The Technology

Sublative Rejuvenation with eMatrix™ is designed to repair the skin and correct complexion imperfections like acne scars. It delivers fractionated bi-polar radio frequency energy right to the deeper layers of the skin to dramatically boost collagen and elastin production. The upper layer of the skin remains unaffected so you can see improvement faster. Approved by Health Canada, we’ve seen amazing results achieved by this device in our patients!

Your Acne Scar Treatment

woman-with-beautiful-skin

To help resolve acne scarring and restore clear, smooth skin, we provide the advanced therapeutic technology known as Sublative Rejuvenation with eMatrix™.

During this acne scarring treatment, the skin is targeted with a matrix of fractionated bipolar radio frequency energy waves. The small dots of heat energy penetrate the skin and damage the tissue in a precise manner. This damage is done precisely and doesn't disrupt the surface of the skin, so there is little to no effect immediately visible. However, underneath the skin, the controlled damage triggers the body's natural healing response.

At the same time, healthy skin regions are left around the damaged areas to reduce exposure and recovery time. This healthy tissue aids in the body's healing process, helping to produce new skin cells rich with strong collagen and elastin protein. Discolored skin is replaced with healthy cells, and the increase in new protein fibers erases away acne scars.

You may see some redness and roughness for a few days after your treatment. You can cover this up with makeup. As this redness and roughness disappear, the results of boosted collagen and elastin production appear. Results may be visible, and continue to get better, up to 4-5 months after your session. The uneven textures associated with your acne scarring, along with any discolouration, will gradually disappear. To improve your results, another session may be performed.

Sublative Rejuvenation with eMatrix is great for all skin types and shades. A single session can last just half an hour, and there's minimal to no downtime.

Dermal fillers, with hyaluronic acid based products, can also be used to plump up depressed areas caused by severe acne breakouts. Fillers provide immediate results but will need touch-ups every few months since they naturally breakdown.

Types of Acne Scars

Acne scars are a common skin condition. They can cause physical and emotional distress. They occur when the skin produces too much collagen in response to an acne breakout. Acne scars come in two forms. Many scars appear as purple, pink or brown spots. The other form of acne scar is known as a pock mark, or ice pick scar. This type of acne scar is not as common and appears as a small, thin and deep depression and is difficult to treat. The amount of acne scarring a person experiences varies, as does the exact type of scarring and frequency of occurrence. These are primarily influenced by genetic makeup.

Inflamed skin lesions like cysts, pustules, and nodules can produce acne scars. Squeezing acne can cause this inflammation and subsequent scarring, and is therefore not recommended.
When an acne scar appears as a discoloration, this is due to the body’s healing process. As the skin tries to rebuild in a natural way, pigment irregularities may form.

Acne scars can be difficult to treat, but there are several options available for reducing their appearance. The first step in treating acne scars is to prevent further breakouts from occurring. This means keeping your skin clean and avoiding harsh products that may irritate it further. It’s also important to use sunscreen daily as UV rays can worsen scarring over time. Additionally, you should avoid picking at any existing pimples as this could lead to more scarring down the line.

If you already have acne scars, there are several treatments available depending on their severity and type of scarring present. For milder cases of discoloration or redness, topical creams containing retinoids may help reduce inflammation and lighten dark spots over time with regular use. Chemical peels using glycolic acid or salicylic acid can also help exfoliate away dead skin cells while stimulating new cell growth for smoother looking skin overall. For deeper pitted scars caused by cystic acne, fractionated skin resurfacing treatments may be necessary for optimal results, since they target specific areas of damaged tissue without affecting surrounding healthy tissue like other methods do. These types of lasers work by creating tiny wounds which stimulate collagen production while removing excess pigmentation from the area being treated. The result is smoother looking skin with fewer visible signs of scarring after multiple sessions.

With proper care, patience, and dedication, it is possible to reduce the appearance of even stubborn acne scars over time!
